Wheels in the Grass

1967 Dodge Polara, Little Valley, N.Y.

Dodge built a total of 69,798 Polaras for 1967 — the year of “The Dodge Rebellion.” This week’s wheels were found in the grass of Little Valley, N.Y. It’s a 1967 Dodge Polara 4-door sedan, and it incorporates Chrysler Corporation’s somewhat wild styling cues for all of its full-sized cars that year. Note the extra-wide C-pillar on the 2-door hardtop in the ad. Rear styling was razor sharp with a rear deck that was longer than the hood, and there’d be no mistaking those taillights on a dark night. The 4-door sedan had a list price of $2,843 if ordered with the lower-costing 318 cu. in. V-8. Otherwise, it was $2,915 with the standard 383 engine.
