Saturday: Fundraiser for Firefighter Mike Anderson
by Geoff Kelly - posted 5:13 pm, October 22, 2010
This summer Grand Island volunteer firefighter Mike Anderson, a forklift operator and Afghanistan veteran and relentless giver to his community, was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. He’s just 25 with a young fiance, Tiffanie.
Tomorrow evening, at the Ellicott Square Building, a broad network of Anderson’s friends and supporters are throwing a fundraiser to help defray the costs of his treatment. Dubbed “Mike’s Biggest Battle, the event runs 4pm to 1opm, and features a nearly absurd array of auctions, food, drink, and entertainment. Tickets are $25. Come out and show your support.
