At 1pm on Saturday, Buffalo State College’s Center for Economic and Policy Studies (chaired by AV columnist Brice Fisher) hosts the first of three public forums focused on giving direction to public officials on waterfront development, especially in regard to the proposed Canalside development, Outer Harbor development, the Buffalo River, and the proposed capacity expansion project for the Peace Bridge.
Saturday’s forum is dedicated to environmental issues, long-term transportation policy, financing, community benefit agreements, and the state authorities that control our waterfront.
The series of public meetings is a project of the Canalside Community Alliance, a 45-member group of not-for-profit organizations, as well as the litigants in Goldman et al. v. Bass Pro et al., a lawsuit challenging the direction the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation has steered the Canalside project.
Tomorrow meeting takes place in the auditorium of the Burchfield Penney Art Center, on the Buffalo State College campus.
