Local Benefit to Help Historic Drive In

As the number of drive-in movie venues continues to dwindle across America, the local Transit Drive-in is scheduling a special benefit to help the iconic Admiral Twin Drive-in. The towering screens there were destroyed by a massive fire on September 3. Because they were constructed of wood, the owner could not get them insured.
The Admiral Twin, located in Tulsa, OK, opened in 1951 and served as the setting for a pivotal scene in S.E. Hinton’s novel The Outsiders. Part of Francis Ford Coppola’s film version of the book was shot on location there.
Mark October 8 on your calendar and join other drive-in enthusiasts at the Transit Drive-in, 6655 South Transit Road, Lockport, for a double feature: The Outsiders and Dirty Dancing. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated toward efforts to rebuild the Admiral Twin.
