Hydro-Frack Meetings Today and Wednesday

Public hearings on the controversial gas-drilling procedure known as hydraulic fracturing (fracking) are taking place today and Wednesday in Binghamton. The hearings, designed to draw comments from citizens about the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) study of the gas retrieval process on the Marcellus Shale, are the final installments in a national series.
Four meetings are scheduled for today and Wednesday and offer New York state residents their last chance to make their voices heard to the EPA regarding the proposed study.
Pre-registration is recommended, as the EPA predicts the public meetings will draw numbers that meet room capacity.
You can get involved and educated about the issues by attending any of the meetings on September 13 and 15 at:
Broome County Forum Theater
236 Washington Street
Binghamton, New York
Meetings begin at noon and 4 both days with pre-registration at 10:30 and 4:30. Guests are encouraged to pre-register to guarantee accommodation.
