The Old Car Dealer Dept.

Before Great Lakes Motors moved to Main Street in Clarence, they occupied the building at 3068 Main St. in Buffalo. Back in 1973 when this Yellow Pages ad ran, they were selling not only the Mercedes-Benz line, but also British Triumph sports cars. Triumph, and most other British cars, by then were well on there way of disappearing from the U.S. market. Great Lakes Motors eventually became exclusively a Mercedes dealer, and over time changed their name to Mercedes-Benz of Buffalo (even though they technically aren’t in Buffalo).
The heavily redecorated building at 3068 Main St. is currently home to the Clark Academy of the Performing Arts, and the south side of the building houses part of the neighboring car dealer Four M Sales.
