One of the tried and true traditions of baseball anywhere is landing your very own cool promotional gift item.
At ballparks everywhere, whether it’s cap night, bobbleheads, youth jerseys it is sure to attract a flock of fans and endear patrons to their team.
The Buffalo Bisons have hit a “home run” of sorts with a great annual tradition. From 2006-2008, the team gave away replica figures of their three prime ballparks – then Dunn Tire Park, War Memorial Stadium and Offerman Stadium. The items were so popular that they have continued the series, going out into the region to design and produce replicas of some of Buffalo’s most treasured landmarks.
So if you’re thinking about making just one visit to see a baseball game this summer, TOMORROW, Thursday, August 5, is the night. The first 4000 ticketed fans through the gate will receive a free replica statue of Buffalo’s Central Terminal. This item will surely be a great collectible, so you will want to get there early to snag your very own gift.
The Bisons will face the Columbus Clippers, affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Game time is at 7:05PM.
Here are the rules: Statues will only be distributed at the Swan Street gate. The gates will open at 6PM and distribution will begin at that time. Fans start cueing up pretty early, but don’t let the long line that will probably stretch as far as the Exchange Street ramp scare you off. Once the gates open the Bisons staff is pretty adept at handling the surge of fans and the line moves pretty quickly. Statues are limited to one per ticketed fan.
Cudos to the Bisons front office for one awesome program.
Might we chime in our suggestion for the 2011 giveaway? ….. MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM.
