The Old Car Dealer Dept.

Buffalo Evening News ad, October 22, 1964

Back in October of 1964, Kenmore Motors, located at 3330 Delaware Ave., was advertising the new 1965 Fords. This particular Buffalo Evening News ad from October 22nd featured the Mustang convertible, which listed for a mere $2,614. It wasn’t, however, the only Ford convertible available that year — you could also buy a Falcon ($2,481), Thunderbird ($4,953), or full-sized Galaxie 500 ($2,950) or 500XL ($3,498). Ford’s brochure bragged that the Galaxie’s convertible top was “…easy enough for the most petite woman driver to operate.” They just don’t write copy like that anymore!”

A Ford dealership for 35 years, the building was last occupied by Jim Doyle Ford which closed in 2007. It still remains empty.
