One of many car dealers located along the Lancaster-Depew corridor on Broadway, Cerullo Motors, at 4955 Broadway in Depew, N.Y., sold Lincoln and Mercurys, including the compact Comet which was featured in this Buffalo Evening News ad from October 26, 1964. I remember the Comet well; when I was a paperboy one of my customers had nearly identical Comet 202 two-door sedans: both green, but one a ’64 and the other a ’65. The ’65 202 two-door, like the one in the brochure illustration, listed for $2,154 and was Comet’s sales leader that year, while the Caliente two-door hardtop in the Cerullo ad went for $2,403. Top of the full-size Mercury line was the Park Lane, whose Breezeway four-door sedan, featuring a reverse-slant rear window that slid open for ventilation, listed for $3,369.
Today 4955 Broadway is home to New York Kitchen and Bath.
