There’s a story going around on the internet today that Ford Motor Company may be winding down the Mercury brand. Bloomberg.com is reporting that top Ford executives are putting together a plan to phase out the Mercury nameplate, started by Henry Ford’s son Edsel in 1939, and that the plan will be presented to company directors in July. So far, there’s no official word from Ford.
