The New York Post is reporting that a statewide Siena poll released this morning shows Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy – despite backing from Cox and two months of open campaigning – has actually fallen behind Buffalo businessman Carl Paladino in Republican primary for governor.
The survey found Levy would draw 14 percent of the vote in a hypothetical primary match-up – down from 15 percent in April. In the meantime, Paladino, who has been burning his millions on ads and battling outrage over racist and sexist e-mails he sent around before he became a candidate, jumped from 13 percent to 16 percent. Andrew Cuomo still maintains a significant lead over any republican candidate.
