Nice Work If You Can Get It
According to a story in today’s Buffalo News, Buffalo Police spokesman Mike DeGeorge “declined to comment on reports that Derenda had directed the police officers to bring Stokes to Brown’s office.”
In the same story, mayor Brown’s spokesman Peter Cutler “referred questions to Sciolino.”
According to Merriam Webster’s online dictionary:
- Main Entry: spokes·man
- Pronunciation: \ˈspōks-mən\
- Function: noun
- Etymology: probably irregular from spoke, obsolete past participle of speak
- Date: 1537
: a person who speaks as the representative of another or others often in a professional capacity
But to be fair and technical, Cutler is paid to be the mayor’s Director of Communications, while DeGeorge’s job title is Special Assistant to the Commissioner for Communications.
And I’m not even sure what the heck that means.
But did you ever notice how much city hall resembles the Tower of Babel?

Derenda has no respect, he has his job because of a giant cash donation to Brown last election and everyone knows it. He ran his T Shirt business the entire time he was a cop (which wasn’t that long) on company time. He has a special sign out front of his business on Delaware, made just for him, no other business owners have such special treatment. His T Shirt business is all in his wife’s name “First Impressions”. He doesn’t live in this city as required.

Deputy Police Commissioner Dan Derenda has a gravy train. Just which t shirt company does the mayor’s campaign printing? First Impressions has made hundreds of thousands of dollars from the mayor’s office. I wonder how those poor African American tee shirt vendors feel when they are acting like fools backing the mayor while he give all of his money to his former campaign bodyguard and chauffer during his first election. Brown uses African Americans as easily and shamelessly as he use any other group of people.

dirtbags all of them. no vision for the residents here, always chasing their tails, always confrontive and nasty, WTF? Wish I could run a business while I worked, wish I had a company car, wish I had a sugar daddy like Brown, bu wait, I have a conscience, forget it.

Why does my bankrupt City, operating under a control board, need four talking heads on the Payroll: Cutler, DeGeorge, Farina and Mychajliw? Wouldn’t we all be better off if we fired them and used their salaries to put some cops out on the beat? Why don’t we require elected and top level appointed officials to speak for themselves? Why do I ask so many obvious questions?

wait, let’s answer that, because they are all liars?

So many Spokespeople who are afraid to speak! What’s wrong with this picture? Then a cop who wants to tell the truth is put under the Brown Gag Order which nver existed prior to his “transparent” administration. Corruption 101: Information Control
