Michael's departure is premature; my thoughts and prayers are with his family who I'm sure are trying to figure out how they'll proceed without him.

We need more - many more - just like him in a city which places a low value on what many of us consider to be treasures. In many respects, it was a unforgiving and thankless effort and the kind of pursuit executed by someone with vision, strength and a steadfast adherence to overcoming the obstacles of indifference and seemingly unsurmountable odds.

Mr. Miller did just that and as a result, Buffalo's a better place.
