When I think of Land Rover, I think back to the rough and rugged trucks Marlin Perkins used to drive around Africa in on the old TV show “Wild Kingdom.”
The Land Rovers they sell in the US these days are not nearly as rough-edged — the toughest things most of them encounter are mall parking lot speed bumps.
However, in other parts of the world one can still buy a Land Rover Defender; probably the closest thing to Marlin Perkins’ ride out there. Check it out for yourself by clicking here.
The Defender is available in a variety of body styles including: Station Wagon, Hard Top, Pick Up, Double Cab Pick Up and Utility Station Wagon, and prices start in the UK at £19,055 ($31,048).
