New Saab 9-3x at the New York Auto Show

2010 Saab 9-3X

2010 Saab 9-3X

Set to make its North American debut tomorrow at the New York Auto Show is Saab’s new crossover, the 9-3X. All-wheel-drive? No. Four-wheel-drive? No. How does cross-wheel-drive grab you? (For a full explanation of XWD, click here to read GM’s full press release.) Okay, so Saab isn’t calling it a crossover — their PR department refers to the 9-3X as “…a rugged all-rounder.” Is that yet another new vehicle category? In Saabspeak, a station wagon-type vehicle is actually a “combi.” You decide what you want to call it. GM (which still does own Saab — for now) is making sure we know the new 9-3X was developed and will be produced by Saab in Trollhättan, Sweden. It certainly can’t hurt the marketing department. The 9-3X should be available in Saab dealerships in North America in the fourth quarter of this year
