Gum Wrapper Obama

Local artist Arseno stopped by the office today with this portrait of Barack Obama made entirely of gum wrappers. (“About $40 worth,” he told us.) If you want to see the real thing, it’ll be hanging in the window at 2309 Elmwood Avenue, just north of Kenmore, where he’s opening a shop called Art Lover’s Oasis at the end of February.

  • Laura Suttell

    Very impressive!

  • Nice use of 5 wrappers. I really like having colored wrappers to work with for art projects. It’s a shame that the gum costs more. Nice use of recycled materials.

you should see my art work. email me if you want to i guess.

  • Tres Cool. Does anybody remember the chains people used to make out of gum wrappers? Not the foil part, necessarily, but the paper. I remember my Dad making them out of Doublemint wrappers. We should have kept some of them. Now i regret not keeping at least one sample for the Family Memory Box. happy Chewing!!!! “Tiny” Kongslie Portland, Oregon
