Gum Wrapper Obama
Local artist Arseno stopped by the office today with this portrait of Barack Obama made entirely of gum wrappers. (“About $40 worth,” he told us.) If you want to see the real thing, it’ll be hanging in the window at 2309 Elmwood Avenue, just north of Kenmore, where he’s opening a shop called Art Lover’s Oasis at the end of February.

Nice use of 5 wrappers. I really like having colored wrappers to work with for art projects. It’s a shame that the gum costs more. Nice use of recycled materials.

Tres Cool. Does anybody remember the chains people used to make out of gum wrappers? Not the foil part, necessarily, but the paper. I remember my Dad making them out of Doublemint wrappers. We should have kept some of them. Now i regret not keeping at least one sample for the Family Memory Box. happy Chewing!!!! “Tiny” Kongslie Portland, Oregon
