Second Deputy Assistant to the Undersecretary of Nowhere

State Senator Antoine Thompson listens as 27-year incumbent Bill Stachowski tells AV that if re-elected, he will receive the chairmanship of the Senate Finance Committee, resulting in the much needed resources for Buffalo and Western New York.

Tomorrow morning at the Buffalo Museum of Science, State Senators Antoine M. Thompson and Bill Stachowski will hold a citizens forum on the New York State budget. It’s a “listening tour,” in the political argot of the day, intended to solicit feedback from voters and organizations affected by the looming sate budget deficits.

Stachowski, who had campaigned on the certainty of being named chair of the state senate’s finance committee—and thereby directing barrels and barrels of pork to Western New York—recently was gamed out of that job in a deal between incoming senate majority leader Malcolm Smith and downstate dissident Democrats.

Stachowski will instead be named a “deputy majority leader,” whatever that means. (Quick, without looking: Name one of the current deputy majority leaders. Hint: One is from Western New York.)

Tomorrow’s forum begins at 9am and runs to 2pm.

  • They talk no one listens…we talk no one listens…

Why are these meetings in the middle of the day? Us working stiffs can rarely attend.

I had to laugh when I heard about the appointment earlier today.

“They talk no one listens…we talk no one listens…”
I’m guessing you’re using a Criket phone, go to Verizon.

“Why are these meetings in the middle of the day? Us working stiffs can rarely attend.”
The Greens want to conserve energy.
You should live off your inheritance.
    Don’t go to work!

“I had to laugh when I heard about the appointment earlier today.”
If you thought that was funny (which it was!)…
Wait until tomorrow when you read about Smith running from the news conference with powered sugar under his nose from a donut he was snorting.

Then to top that off; Stachowski tried to answer questions from some reporters!

…and people say Albany doesn’t have a sense of humor!

“Why are these meetings in the middle of the day? Us working stiffs can rarely attend.”

Because the meetings are not meant for working stiffs.
    They are meant for Democrats.

I’d like to write more, but I have to leave for work!

  • Twixt

Dozens of representatives testified before Thompson by 11 am.
McCarthy from the news came, talked with Stachowski in another room for 10 minutes and then left.

    The sad news is:
If you questioned Stachowski about the days events, like McCarthy; he wouldn’t have an answer.

    Even sadder is:
Thompson will try to correct a bad situation in WNY.
For some unknown reason Thompson still believes his colleagues care as much as he does.
He doesn’t stand a chance, but Hooray For Him!

I was there and no one showed up therefore no one listened. These two do nothing Senators sold WNY down the tubes so they can get their $110,000 salaries.

I forgot Stach save the hospital… Oh, no that was Gabryszak?
